TapTapSee - Helping the Blind Identify Objects
TapTapSee is a powerful tool designed to assist the blind and visually impaired in identifying objects they encounter in their daily lives. With a simple tap anywhere on the screen, users can take a picture of any two or three-dimensional object from any angle. TapTapSee then uses the CloudSight.ai Image Recognition API to speak the identification back to the user (Note: VoiceOver must be turned on for spoken identification).
The app's main goal is to promote independence among blind and visually impaired individuals by providing them with a reliable tool for object identification. It has received recognition and positive feedback from various sources, including the American Foundation for the Blind, RNIB, and AppleVis iOS Hall of Fame.
TapTapSee has been praised for its accuracy and detail. It has been described as a sighted assistant that never grows tired of answering the question, "What's that?" The app also allows users to upload pictures from their camera roll, save pictures with attached definitions, and share results via text, email, or social media. Additionally, it features a barcode and QR code reader, auto-focus notification, flash toggle, and a rotor reader.
TapTapSee is compatible with iPhones (from 3G and up), iPod Touch, and iPad. For more updates, follow @TapTapSee on Twitter or like Facebook.com/TapTapSeeApp.
